There is a big misconception about the weather in Boulder. Most people assume Boulder has harsh winters with piles of snow for months on end in fact, Boulder receives nearly 300 sunny days a year—more annual days of sunshine than either San Diego or Miami Beach. Sure, it does snow in the winter with a snowfall averages of 88 inches per season, but snow depth is usually shallow and a strong warming sun due to the high elevation usually melts the snow cover within a day. Boulder has a dry climate typical of much of the state and summers are hot and dry, with 30 days reaching 90 °F (32 °C) or above.
